The Disney Channel has come a long way from what it use to be. Wasn't there a time where the shows had morals (a lesson) and real life situations without really being an after school special. Boy Meets World, Sister Sister, Growing Pains etc. these shows were actually realistic. Personally I grew up on Disney Channel, I mainly stuck to cartoons because after all who didn't love Ducktales, Bonkers, Chip n' Dale: Rescue Rangers. Compare those shows to the stuff you have now, Hannah Montana, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, that's So Raven... just pure entertainment. Back then shows were actually realistic with an understandable conflict that didn't have to be created every new episode by some far fetched plot-driver. Phil of the Future, plain and simple was Disney flashing their big shiny budget.
Has anyone else ever noticed how whenever kids end up on the Disney Channel all of the sudden they have "musical talent". Now I can understand those who say "Well they used Disney Channel to jump-start their music career." This may be true but that sure is a whole lot of people who just coincidentally all want to make it in the music industry. Quite a few of these "singers" take songs that have already been done and put their own little twist on it showing lack of originality and overall talent. Selena Gomez, Mitchel Musso are a couple of examples of those who have "musical talent".
So props to the Disney Channel for producing mindless entertaining drabble and for becoming just like all the other networks. So proud of you.
Overall not much of a rant but it's been on my mind.
(next rant Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus and Mitchel Musso)
